December OCJUG MeetingDateThursday, December 14TopicGWT - Where Does it Fit (and How it Works)PresenterJosh Rehman & Jim WhiteAbstractGWT - Where Does it Fit (and How it Works). 20% GWT mechanics and libraries, 80% discussion of where GWT fits in the constellation of Java platform development, especially data-driven business applications, and exploring different architectures and integration techniques. GWT is a unique technology in that it represents a different run-test-debug cycle than ordinary java applications, it also has some unusual requirements as to package names and class naming conventions. This talk should be interesting to not only anyone looking to get into GWT, but also anyone interested in comparative software architectures and technical project management (e.g. the technological requirements for smoothly running projects). GWT offers a great oppurtunity to discuss these things because it is so unique (both at compile-time and at run-time) and forces one to examine previously held assumptions. also, jim will speak on: using GWT to access a SPARQL server via JSON. Meeting LocationThe meetings are held at Smart Soft - The Java Training Company in Irvine. Smart Soft LocationTimes |
