January OCJUG MeetingDateThursday, January 10TopicGlassFish V2 Technical OverviewPresenterJohn ClinganAbstractAbstract ------------ GlassFish is the Java EE 5 reference implementation built in open source and is engineered for demanding production environments. GlassFish offers developer productivity features such as full Java EE 5 support, hot-deploy, easy- to-use admin GUI (and CLI), web services management support, jRuby deployment, etc. GlassFish also offers production-quality features such as centralized management, advanced clustering and record-breaking performance. The presentation will cover GlassFish adoption, developer productivity features, drill down into the administration and clustering architecture. Demonstrations will include - as time permits - clustering, call flow monitoring (trace HTTP call through appserver containers), GlassFish Update Center, deploying a jRuby application, web services management, and anything else the group wants to see (and John knows how to demo :-) ). GlassFish V3 Technology Preview can also be demonstrated.
